Pin of the Week- August 2nd

I just love this cool DIY from Better Homes and Gardens. I love the paper they used and I love how they made a collage of them on a wall. It’s even cooler that they covered the books too. BHG on Pinterest has a lot of cool pins and boards. Next time we have a party at the house I know what i’ll be making for decor. Maybe I’ll do one of these collages for christmas too. They’d be great going up a stairway! You can see this pin here, and check out my DIY Crafts board on Pinterest here.

Happy Pinning!

My Life in Pictures- July 30th

Our gardens are one of my favorite things about our home here in Apex! I love to watch them grow and transform every year. And even though we complain about how much time and work goes into keeping things looking great, it’s beauty like this that makes it so worth the effort! This is one of my favorite spots in our garden, our picket fence, and my huge purple butterfly bush! In the spring and summer there are always an abundance of butterflies and dragonflies around this spot. It’s so lovely!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Pin of the Week- July 26th

I just love this sweet little birdhouse! The tin roof is so cute! I have several in my garden that are shabby and sweet, and they make me happy every time I see them. I would love to have this one to add to my collection! Image found on Pinterest Here

My Life in Pictures- July 23rd

This past week has been super busy around the house and studio! However, the girls and I were able to get away for a bit, and we took all the pups to Lake Pine for a nice long walk around the lake. I think we all needed it! The weather was a bit hot, but it’s always pretty around the park. I just love all the wildlife they have around Lake Pine as well, and the dogs go crazy for all the squirrels and ducks! It’s a beautiful place, and in the hustle of the city, a near by calm spot where you can take off for an hour and just have fun. And perhaps the thing I love the most about walking the dogs at the lake is that they are nice and tuckered out for the remainder of the day, or at least a few hours.

Have a Happy Monday Everyone!

Tuesday Tips- How to Photograph Fireworks

Image found here

In honor of the Independance Day Celebrations tommorow, todays tip is on how to get great pictures of fireworks. If you have a DSLR camera put it on a tripod. You need to use a cable release. Set your camera to manual, your shutter speed to the bulb setting, and your ISO to 100. Start with your aperature at around  f-11, then set your lens to the widest angle, ie. 16mm,24mm,28mm ect. When the fireworks shoot up press your shutter release, when the fireworks stop release your shutter release. If your images are too dark, try opening your lens more, and if they are too light shut your lens down more. And there you have it, an easy tip for getting beautiful shots at your local fireworks display show this July 4th!

Have a Happy and Safe 4th of July!
